|Dr. Avi Katz|
Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President
Founder, Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer and President of GigOptix, Inc. Dr. Avi Katz has served as the Chairman of the board of directors, Chief Executive Officer & President of GigOptix LLC since inception in May 2007 and through its public offering in December 2007. Previously, Dr. Katz served as the Chief Executive Officer and President of iTerra Communications LLC, Intransa Inc., from 2003 to 2005, and Equator Technologies Inc., from 2000 to 2003. Earlier he served in various sales, marketing and operational executive positions following his tenure service as a Member of the Technical Staff in AT&T Bell Labs, Murray Hill, NJ, between 1988 and 1995. Dr. Katz is active in philanthropy and among others serves as a board member for the Israeli Venture Network (IVN), a NFP social philanthropy network. He holds more than 70 U.S. and international patents, has published approximately 300 technical papers and is the editor of a number of technical books. Dr. Katz received his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Technion-IIT, Israel, and is a graduate of the Israeli Naval Academy.

Chief Financial Officer
Curt P. Sacks joined GigOptix as Chief Financial Officer, after having served as Chief Financial Officer since June 2009 for Endwave Corporation. Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller since February 2006. He joined Endwave in 2004 as Corporate Controller, after serving in this capacity for two successive companies; first, for Com21, Inc., a manufacturer of system solutions for the broadband access market; and next with Finisar, Inc., a manufacturer of high-speed communication equipment for data and storage. Prior to 1998, Mr. Sacks worked in corporate finance at 3Com Corporation and as an auditor for Deloitte & Touche LLP. Mr. Sacks is a C.P.A. (inactive) in California with a B.A. in Business-Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
|Andrea Betti Berutto|
Chief Technical Officer
Founder of iTerra Communications
As Chief Technical Officer, Andrea Betti Berutto has responsibility for directing and managing the engineering groups within GigOptix. He was formerly Director of Product Development, ICs and Technology, for GigOptix's 40 Gb/s transponders and 10 Gb/s optical receivers. Before joining GigOptix, Andrea managed the product development team of Fujitsu Compound Semiconductor for millimeter-wave high-power amplifiers used in point-to-point and satellite communication applications. He has more than 16 years of experience in the design of ICs and multichip modules for microwave, millimeter-wave, and RF applications. Andrea is the author of several papers in technical journals in the area of power amplifiers, high-speed ICs, and broadband design for lightwave applications, and received his MS degree in electrical engineering from the University of Rome "La Sapienza."
Senior Vice President of Operations & Corporate Planning
Julie has more than 20 years of semiconductor industry experience. Before joining GigOptix, she held numerous management positions at NXP Semiconductors and its predecessor Philips Semiconductors. She was most recently General Manager for Mobile Wireless LAN. Her other positions at the company included Head of Operations for Business Line Connectivity products, General Manager for Networking ASICs, Vice President and General Manager for Digital Video Interactive products, Business Development Manager for Consumer Systems, and International Product Marketing Manager for Teletext ICs. Julie received her BS degree in physics from the University of Kent, and Diploma in Marketing from Chartered Institute of Marketing, both in England.
|Dr. Raluca Dinu|
Vice President and General Manager of Optics Product Line
Dr. Raluca Dinu has more than 12 years of experience in telecommunication industry. In 2008, Dr. Dinu joined GigOptix as the Vice President of Product Development after having served as the Vice President of the Electro-Optic Business Unit since 2007 for Lumera Corporation. From 2001 to 2007, Dr. Dinu served Lumera in various capacities, as technology and business leader in electro-optic polymer modulators and millimeter wave communication systems, having 15+ patents and successfully bringing polymer-based business TFPS technology to production. Dr. Dinu obtained her BSc in Optics, and PhD in Physics, at the University of Bucharest in 2000 in ferroelectric thin films for random access memories. Dr. Dinu graduated the Executive MBA AeA/Stanford Institute in 2007.

Vice President and General Manager of RF/Microwave Product Line
Padraig has more than 15 years of semiconductor industry experience. Prior to joining GigOptix, Padraig was a Product Line Manager for Medical Imaging within NXP Semiconductors’ Emerging Business Unit and managed teams both in Europe and in the US. Previous experience includes marketing and engineering roles at Philips Semiconductors in the US and the S3 Group in Ireland. Padraig hold 5 patents, received a master’s degree in electronic engineering from the University of Limerick, Ireland and an MBA from University of California, Berkeley.
Vice President and General Manager of ASIC Product Line
Mr. Anil Chaudhry has more than 25 years of semiconductor industry experience in ASIC and ASSP products. Prior to joining GigOptix, Anil was a Director of ASIC Marketing at ChipX & OKI Semiconductor. From 2000 to 2002, Anil was the Vice President of Marketing at Free Electron Technology, a fabless semiconductor startup company in the networking area. Previous experience includes ASIC & ASSP marketing roles at Mitsubishi Semiconductor, National Semiconductor and Fairchild. Anil received undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur, India and a master’s degree in international business from Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, Arizona.
Vice President of Product Engineering & Manufacturing
With more than 20 years of experience in telecommunications, Steve came to GigOptix through the acquisition of Endwave. While at Endwave, Steve held various management positions in business development, engineering, and operations with his position at the time of the acquisition being Director of RF Subsystems. Prior to Endwave, Steve worked as a development engineer for Lockheed Martin on a global satellite base station program, where he started his engineering career before moving into the program office. Steve earned his BSME from San Jose State University and MSME from Stanford University.
